Responsibilities
- Provide process engineering support in batch API supply, through application of chemical engineering fundamentals
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities related to equipment and processes as member of cross-functional process team.
- Support the tech transfer, scale-up and development of new processes and unit operations across batch processing platforms
- Utilise root cause analysis techniques to investigate process and equipment issues and deliver robust and sustainable corrective and preventative actions
- Monitor, assess and document equipment performance to maintain ongoing qualification.
- Develop and maintain the basis of safety for process equipment
- Develop and implement unit operation and equipment control strategy to sustain and optimize small molecule API processes.
- Integrate mechanistic modelling, process simulation and analysis into current and future processes to enhance process understanding and control.
Key Attributes
- Process Engineering third level qualification.
- Minimum two years’ experience in manufacturing areas such as;
- Production Operations/Unit Operation support (reactions, distillations, crystallizations, drying, milling etc).
- Production Operations Utility support (e.g. vacuum pumps, waste systems / tanks, scrubbers/vent header systems, solvent distribution systems, high/low pressure nitrogen distributions, vessel heat-transfer systems, HVAC, etc).
- Experience in Process Safety and Quality Compliance aspects of manufacturing and project delivery.
- Working in a collaborative cross-functional team environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive approach with a commitment to meet deadlines.
